Would you like to have a quantity of well-characterized material prepared from your own material available for your in-house quality control programs? LQSi can work with you to incorporate specific materials into one of LQSi’s PTPs, provide you with a run lot quality report, and supply a quantity of material for your own use in return for your providing the feedstock for the PTP sample preparation. Do you have a hard time accepting the characterization given to others about the quality of your material? Do you wonder if different methods used by different laboratories around the globe produce different results on your product? Do laboratory results range too much? Do loadport results differ from disport results? LQSi can work with you to develop protocols for a study to investigate these issues. LQSi can administer an international study to explore the range of possible results that would be obtained while testing, e.g., a specific coal for Hardgrove Grindability Index (HGI) or for ash fusion temperature; or a specific copper concentrate for XRF analysis or transport moisture level. In such studies, individual participants typically receive a copy of their individual laboratory’s performance report and the sponsoring party will typically obtain a summary report that does not include traceability of specific data back to a specific participating laboratory. Do you have a need to homogenize and divide a large quantity of dry particulate material into a large number of individual lots or samples? LQSi can help. As an example, LQSi has just recently completed a sample preparation, homogenization, and division project that provided a customer with over 2,000 bottles of homogeneous material, with low intra- and inter-bottle variation. Client-specific PTPs
LQSi will work with clients to develop programs geared specifically to client needs:
- Inclusion of client supplied material in an existing LQSi PTP
- Obtain a broader characterization of the material itself
- Obtain well characterized in house control samples
- Inclusion of a group of client-sponsored labs in an existing LQSi PTP
- Development of a specific PTP to client specifications
- Development of client specific reference materials (in house quality control, secondary reference materials, etc.) based upon select reference labs or methods
Homogenization, blending, and packaging of solid particulate materials
LQSi will work with clients to produce homogenous materials that can be used as quality control or reference materials. LQSi has been a subcontractor to national metrology bodies and instrument manufacturers in the development of certified reference materials (CRMs) with reliable reference values.
Method / proficiency development services
LQSi can supply a laboratory seeking to establish proficiency with a series of proficiency sample types.
- Type 1 – samples of known value to be used during development / demonstration of performance for new methods, new or reconditioned instruments, or new analysts in which the lab will be provided with reference values along with the samples.
- Type 2 – samples of known value to be used during development / demonstration of performance for new methods, new or reconditioned instruments, or new analysts in which the reference values are not provided to the lab until after results are submitted to LQSi for evaluation.
- Type 3 - samples of known value to be used during development / demonstration of performance for new methods, new or reconditioned instruments, or new analysts in which the laboratory participates in established LQSi PTPs.
Cooperative programs
LQSi can provide statistical analysis and reporting of PTP data supplied by others.
Analyst certification program
Through our Analyst Certification program, we can send your laboratory blind samples. The analyst will then test the blind samples and submit the results to LQSi. Depending upon the results, the analyst may receive certification.
